| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 高齡者教育所 === 97 === The purposes of this study are to explore the relationship between elder volunteers’ social support and volunteering commitment. This research adopts a questionnaire survey, and the data were collected from the elder volunteers of Taoyuan county, Hsinchu city, Hsinchu county and Miaoli county. 1,128 questionnaires were sent out, and 969 were returned with rate of 85.9％. The total number of valid questionnaires were 923. The conclusions of this study are following：
1.The feeling for social support of the elder volunteers is above average. Among the social support, the feeling of the emotional support is the highest, but the feeling of the informational support is the lowest.
2.The feeling for volunteering commitment of the elder volunteers is very high. Among the volunteering commitment, the feeling of the effort commitment is highest, but the feeling of the value commitment is the lowest.
3.The age, service year and inhabitation status are related to elder volunteers’ social support.
4.The sex, education, service year and inhabitation status are related to elder volunteers’ volunteering commitment.
5.The elder volunteers’ social support is related to volunteering commitment.
Based upon the result of this research, hoping to provide proper suggestion for elder volunteers, related volunteering institutions and references for future studies.
