When a risk gets out of control it can cause large losses for the business. Construction industry is a higher risk career; however, there aren’t many people use the method – “Risk and Control Self-Assessment” to test whether risks can control. This study based on the Australian/New Zealand risk management AS/NEZ: 4360 structure, COSO, Research Development and Evaluation Commission, Executive Yuan, and Public Construction Commission, Executive Yuan. Revising and designing the self-rating scale of risk control via the experts suggested. It contents: The supposition engineering work, the measurement work, the dig work, the steel work, the template work, the concretes pouring work, the safety and health management work and so on… and then cooperated with the risk management software “KnowRisk” to evaluate the effect of engineering company. The research had used case study to compare A project (control group) and B project (experiment group) in A construction company during 4 weeks. The engineers and the site supervisors about 13 workers filled the risk control rating scale via internet. There were 3 senior supervisors used the software “KnowRisk” to analysis 5 items below: 1. Risk with Control. 2. Inherent risk in the evaluation 3. To fill in control validity evaluation chart. 4. Improving and Tracing. 5. Comparing experimental result. 6. Filling in risk assessment and the control validity appraisal questionnaire. However, A project (control group) did it without filling in the charts. Finally the result represented significant difference between two groups, that is B Project is better than A project on the risk control effects by the way of output risk matrix in the software “KnowRisk”.
