In order to maintain the transmission and routing characteristics of tree structure, it’s important to maintain the integrity of the topology. Once the tree topology damaged, the communication will break and a large number of downstream network node need to be re-connected and the data transmitting will loss. Wanzhi Qui, Peng Hao and Rob J. Evans proposed an effective self-healing mechanism. In their work, when a router synchronous loss, downstream nodes will re-join the network then each of them will send message separately to other devices to change address. In our work, we purposed that router or coordinator transmits update information by beacon to improve its self-repair mechanism. When nodes re-join networks after it detects link failure, it will broadcasts only one updated message to the remote devices to update corresponding information about the node and its children. This group updates mechanism allow the remote devices to update the information about the address of the re-join node and its child simultaneously. Simulations using ns2 were conducted in addition to attempting formal proofs. The simulation results shows that proposed method is indeed shortened the time to re-join the network and reduces the number of packets of rejoining process.
