In the IEEE 802.16m standard, the Femtocell technology has been incorporated into the WiMAX network, and is a promising option for the network service provider to increase indoor coverage opportunity. The main benefits of femtocell are its low cost, low power, and high-data-rate service. It connects to the WiMAX core network via the wired backhaul. In the thesis, we consider a WiMAX network deploying both Macrocell base stations and Femtocell base stations. We investigate the received signal quality difference between indoor users and outdoor users. Furthermore, we evaluate the system performance including average SINR, system capacity, spectrum efficiency and blocking probability with different Femtocell densities, transmit power, and channel assignment schemes. Simulation results show that Femtocell base stations provide better indoor coverage, where the Macrocell base stations signal may be weak. When Femtocell base stations are densely deployed, the system can significantly increase the spectrum efficiency and decrease the user blocking probability. Ting-Chao Hou 侯廷昭 學位論文 ; thesis 98 zh-TW |
