Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 通訊工程研究所 === 97 === The emergence of Web 2.0 technology provides more opportunities to foster online communication and sharing in an e-learning environment. Web-based annotation system has been developed for many years, but there is no annotation system integrated with learning management system (LMS). The purpose of this study is to develop a Web 2.0 annotation system which is built in a learning management system and examine its effectiveness. Our system, referred to as MyNote annotation system, is designed based upon the core concepts of Web 2.0, such as ease of access and active sharing. With MyNote, learners can take notes at anywhere within a multimedia learning object which could be web documents or multimedia streaming content. Furthermore, each annotation is associated with several metadata, such as annotation types, keywords, private or public, etc. With these metadata, learners are very easy to search their annotations as well as public annotations shared by others. The use of MyNote was examined on multimedia learning objects within the LMS, and web documents outside the LMS as well. Although MyNote annotation system still needs to be improved, overall, students whether used the multimedia learning objects or not were satisfied with this new technology and showed their high interest to keep using it in the future.
