The incident took place due to drought. People started robbing food and killing officers because of food shortage. This incident has been discussed in several documents, such as “Qing Rebel Incidents” written by Inou YoShiMiNoRi; “Chang-Bing’s Biography”, written by Lian-Heng; “Rebel incidents in Qing Dynasty”, written by Chang-Tan; “The Research of the Chang Bing Incident”, written by Ming-tsung Yang; and “Examine Taiwanese Social Structure in Qing Dynasty Through Chang Bing Incident”, written by Yao-hsien Huang. However, these researches were only based on the official records and lack of folk belief evidences. Therefore, the researcher starts to introduce the incident background and progress, and then the researcher compares and contrasts the official records and folk beliefs which are related to the incident. Finally, the researcher collects Filed Studies and divides into Folk Beliefs and Historical Heroic Stories categories. Folk Beliefs are included “Chang Bing Warships Flags”, “Lu Zhi Heng’s Failure and Death”, “Earth God’s Assistance in the war”, “Weng-Ling Goddess’s War Blessing”, and etc. In the Historical Heroic section, there are “Zhong Yi Temple”, Three Saints Temple and Horse Falling and Death Bridge’, “Black and White Generals Temple in Shuang Xi Kou”, “Fifty-Three Generals Temples”, “The Graves of Nation’s Calamities”, and etc. Through the tales analysis, the researcher presents different perspectives from the official records and proves that in order to complete a historical research, the Folk Beliefs should be included. Finally, the researcher indicates that the historical explanation does not only belong to officials, but also Folk Beliefs. Thus, the historical description made by the rulers is only a part of history, and is not necessary correct. Bing-Hua Shr Pao-chai Chiang 施炳華 江寶釵 2009 學位論文 ; thesis 144 zh-TW |
