Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 教學專業發展數位學習碩士在職專班 === 97 === This research involves community college students in information curriculum class as the research targets. The aim is to discuss learning obstacles encountered by community college students in information curriculum class and to clarify the relations of the learning disability for individual backgrounds. Then, the findings propose the conclusion and the suggestion for government educational institution, information teachers in the community college and the related further research in the near future.
The research technique in this study mainly takes the questionnaire survey assisted by interviews as the reference. The research target areas are selected on community colleges in six southern county cities as the sample scope. The sample numbers in the questionnaire survey reach total 436. The research technique is designed as “The questionnaire of the Community college students for information learning disability”. The analysis methods are descriptive analysis, statistical methods, Pearson correlation coefficient, t-test, One-Way ANOVA and Scheffe.
This research proposes the following conclusions:
1. The factors of information learning disability for Community college students include six dimensions. Those are psychological barrier, the physiological barrier, the family work barrier, personal consciousness barrier, the teaching and the curriculum barrier and the environmental equipment barrier and so on.
2. The factors of information learning disability among Community college students are “the psychological barrier” as the prime cause and “personal consciousness barrier” as another main factor.
3. The main factor of psychological barrier for Community college students is revealed for the reactions in those students’ mind. For example, they may worry that the computer will show some data that they don’t understand or respond.
4. The main cause of the physiological barrier is revealed by the response of the students. They cannot concentrate on their studying.
5. Among the learning disability factors, the main cause of the family work barrier for the Community college information learners may be that nobody can help them with the homework at home when they don’t know how to do it.
6. The main factor of personal consciousness barrier among the Community college students may be that those students’ memory ability is not good. They easily forget what they have learned very soon.
7. In the Community college information teaching and the curriculum barrier, the main factor is that practice time is not enough.
8. In the class, the ages and learning levels have large difference and affects the study progress. This phenomenon is the main factor for Community college information learners in environmental equipment barrier.
9. Whether the Community college information learners have computers at home or not is nothing with the learning barriers. However, the learners without Internet at home have more barriers on some dimensions, including psychology, physiology, personal consciousness barrier and teaching in the curriculum.
10. For the Community college students around the age of 51-60 years old, they mostly get elementary degrees and don’t have Internet at home. They use computers less than one hour per week. They may suffer the most level of the learning disability.
According to the research conclusions, the concrete proposals are suggested as below
1. Suggestions for government education institution: increasing Community college funds and expanding computer equipments.
2. Suggestions for Community college in our country
(1) Hold the conference for the information teacher workshop and the teaching seminar, and establish the teaching exchange network platform.
(2) Set up and implement information teaching evaluation mechanism in order to improve teaching quality.
(3) Upload the curriculum video recording on the Community college website, provide the students with self-study channels and establish the consultation counseling unit.
3. Suggestions for the Community college information teachers
(1) In the teaching initial period, former students could be invited to share their learning experiences, expressing the idea about the easy learning in computer. The purpose is to strengthen the student confidence and reduces their learning anxiety.
(2)The teacher selects appropriate teaching materials in the lecture and utilizes multi-dimensional teaching strategies to improve the teaching results.
(3) Take the group learning and the teaching assistant teaching, strengthen the exchange, the study and the growth among students.
(4) The general teaching targets are illustrated in detail and marked with the basic knowledge for the learners in the curriculum.
(5) Understand information learner''s backgrounds, adjust suitable teaching styles andprovide the suggestions in the study.
4. Suggestion for further research in the near future
(1) Research targets: the research targets can be selected in other county cities or researchers can do the survey in different grown-up teaching organizations. The purpose is to carry on the research investigation and enhances inferential and the representation findings in the study.
(2) Research technique: researchers can adopt more dimensional research methods, like the depth interviews, specific observations and so. The aim is to do the further survey and analysis.
(3) Variable factors in the research background: researchers can increase the information learner''s participation motive and the curriculum content, understand whether to affect the information learner''s learning disability degree in order to accomplish the findings.
