Through certain attainment of knowledge from union activities, the thoughts and behaviors of members could be changed, and then gradually identify themselves with the union and be engaged in union business. Therefore, the study is conducted to explore the relationships among the educational function of labor union, union identification, and union participation of union members. So as to understand how member characteristics affect their perception of educational function of labor union, the influence of educational function of labor union on union identification, and the relationship between union identification and union participation, and then we use union participation to emphasize the mediating relationship between educational function of labor union and union participation. Besides, the study also discusses the moderating effect of supervision support on educational function of labor union and union identification. The study takes the members of labor union C in the steel industry, who had been a group leader once, as an empirical study example. There are 537 effective questionnaires returned. Through reliability analysis, variance analysis, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, and structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis, the results are as follows: 1. Members with different characteristics have significant differences on different variables. (1)Members of technical background have higher perception on ducational function of labor union than those of engineering background. (2)Senior members tend to possess higher union identification. 2. The educational function of labor union has significant positive influence on union identification. 3. Union identification has significant positive influence on union participation. 4. Union identification has partial mediating effect on educational function of labor union and union participation. 5.
