The thesis aims to explore the learning progress of being in the service of a culture volunteer. The main study will focus on three parts. Firstly, to understand the motivation of being a volunteer in Min-Xoing Culture Foundation and their learning progress on assignment organized. Secondly, to explore the harvests of being in the service of a volunteer and the situations of self-exuberance. Thirdly, to discuss the motivations of keep on being in service of a volunteer and the ways of eliminating the obstacles.
In order to fulfill the objectives, the research will put the eye on “Case Study.” The Case Study will take the senior volunteers in Min-Xiong Culture Foundation as examples. In the beginning, the researcher will design an interview means by adopting observation records and references analysis. We, in addition, will have a thoroughly individual interview with eight agreed senior volunteers. We, then, will analyze the interview with Class Analysis, and make a dialogue discussion with references. In a consequence, we will have the results as the following:
First, the motivations, for senior volunteers in Min-Xiong Culture Foundation, are not only egoistic, altruistic, mature, expectancy-valence, but also to extend interpersonal relationship, to spend leisure time and to promote their countrymen’s accomplishments in literature and art.
Second, the learning progress of the volunteers in Min-Xiong Culture Foundation contain irregular and informal learning. The learning include formal training, advance short-term training, mutual learning before teammates and the learning on assignment organized.
Third, the way to eliminate the frustration is to build up a healthy serving thought, and empathy. They, what is more, will not only explain every misunderstanding but also accept every challenge from the assignment. These are the models of frustration learning.
Fourth, the learning harvests that the senior volunteers gain are abundant and various: For their selfhood, they will have a much staider, more tactful personality, a well interaction relationship, a promotive self-confidence and an affirmative value on self-existence. For neighborhood, their devotion will improve the living standard of the neighborhood. The improvement contains the abilities of admire the literature and art, and environmental education. It, furthermore, will raise their countrymen’s citizen responsibility and enhance the development of their neighborhood.
Fifth, the learning progress of the senior volunteer in the Foundation can be the model for being in the service of a volunteer: the motivation for being in the a long-term service of a senior volunteer comes from the positive attitude of their leadership, the harmonious atmosphere of the group members, mutual communication among volunteers, the satisfaction of inner requirement, the fulfillment of self-maturation, the establishment of serving enrionment and humanistic organized administration.
In the last, according to the inference above, the propositions for volunteers, the volunteer manipulative units and the researcher afterwards are as the following:
Firstly, the proposition for the volunteers:
1. Try to find out every learning channel as possible as one can, have every
learning chance in volunteer serving in hands, and achieve
self-development.
Second, the proposition for the volunteer manipulative units:
1.Listen to the heartfelt wishes of the volunteers and
implement the concern about the volunteers.
2.Implement the contact among volunteers and the counseling
system.
3.Change the cadre members timely.
4.Provide the volunteers required trainings and learning.
5.To set up a channel of communication between secretary room
and the volunteer groups
6.To make sure of having safety protections for volunteer serving and insuring an Accident insurance for every volunteer.
Third, the proposition for the researchers afterwards:
1. To enlarge the range of their study objects for the purpose of gaining more specific information.
2. To use Longitudinal Study in order to understand the changing progress of the senior volunteers’ inner thoughts.
