Summary:碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 成人及繼續教育所 === 97 === The purpose of this study is to investigate the current condition and relationships between professional knowledge and teaching efficiency for elementary teachers who teach foreign spouses; analyze different individual background variables, and the correlation between professional knowledge and teaching efficiency. The findings would be a reference for educational institutions to train the teachers of foreign spouses education. This research is collected through questionnaires. The self-made research tool is “Questionnaire of professional knowledge and teaching efficiency of teachers who teach foreign spouses.” The analysis of the data collection is in accordance with Average, Standard Deviation, t test, One-way ANOVA, and Pearson Product-moment Correlation. Two hundred and twelve samples were chosen from public elementary schools in Chiayi and Tainan. One hundred and eighty three valid samples were collected. The main investigations about this study are as followings: 1. The professional knowledge of teachers who teach foreign spouses is divided into five dimensions. “The knowledge of the politics and cultures in Taiwan” is the highest professional knowledge among the teachers, and “The background knowledge of foreign spouses” isn’t good. 2. The teaching effectiveness of foreign spouses’ teachers is divided into four dimensions. In teaching efficiency, the dimension of “Instructional Atmosphere” is the best, the dimension of “lesson plans” needs to be enhanced. 3. Teachers who have ever joined the training classes result in better teaching efficiency than others. 4. According to the research, the higher proficiency levels of the teachers are, the better teaching efficiency of the teachers would be. Teachers whose dimension of “ The multi-cultural attitude toward professional knowledge in adult education ” are better, then, their teaching efficiency are better than others.
