Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 犯罪防治所 === 97 === The purpose of this study is to understand the tendency of drug use, drug awareness and drug education needs of primary school students in Chiayi City. The results can be used as reference for future aniti-drug education courses. The study used questionnaires and research tools such as literature discussion guided by Professor Yang to edit and pretest, then the experiment was finally modified to “the sixth grade students’ tendency of drug abuse, anti-drug awareness and education needs questionnaires.” To investigate the sixth grade students, a total of 417 questionnaires were given, and a total of 364 valid questionnaires were
received. Survery data was analyzed by SPSS12.0 statistical software. Results of this study are as follows:
First we will address elementary school children''s tendency of drug use as well as drug
awareness and drug education needs:
(A)The performance of elementary school students’ drug tendency is good, but students are more vulnerable to drug use due to curiosity. To avoid the impact of risk factors such as pressure, in addition to the Government decree on drugs, will also affect the tendency
of students to use of drugs.
(B) The primary school students are good at overall performance of the drug awareness, but the dangers of drugs and the understanding of drug effects need to be strengthened.
(C) In regards to the demand for anti-drug education, students need schools to teach more
about how to avoid being victims of the methodology and trained to refuse drugs. The students also hope to learn more about how drugs have different effects and the dangers of drugs.
Second, the difference of elementary school children in the tendency of drug use, drug awareness and drug education needs
(A)Different gender, personality, whether or not with drug use experience students in drug
use tend to differ.
(B)Different experiences of the drug use, academic performance in school, instructor in the class to carry out anti-drug education, students through the print media or other means of access to anti-drug education messages,are different in drug cognition.
(C)Different living conditions, whether or not with the experience of drug use, instructor in the class to carry out anti-drug education, students through the print media or other means of access to anti-drug education messages students in anti-drug education needs are different.
(D)The better performance of students in the overall scores of cases of drug awareness and the understanding of the dangers of drugs is, the more drug use is not inclined. Each other showed low positive correlation. The better the students on drug awareness is, the anti-drug educational needs of students are higher. A moderate positive correlation exists between them. The better the students’ tendency of external factors of drug use is, the demand for anti-drug education is higher, but they only showed low positive correlation.
Research results show that school teachers should be concerned about students understanding of drug education to reduce the tendency of drug use. In anti-drug education curriculum, to teach students how to avoid being victims of medicine and the skills to refuse drug offers, to enhance learning motivation, and to strengthen the students on drug awareness and understanding of the dangers of drugs. Government agencies, regularly deseminating anti-drug education through the print media or other channels, will have good results to enhance the overall performance of students’ drug awareness. Finally, the Government should consider the adverse effects of students’ physiology and psychology while discussing drug policy.
