碩士 === 元智大學 === 管理研究所 === 96 === ABSTRACT Pap smear and Adult health examination have been proven as effective preventive services for adult women in Taiwan. This thesis studied the utilization of women’s preventive health care and tried to find out the way to improve the using rates of cervical Pap smear test and adult health examination. We use the data from the National Health Insurance Research Database in Taiwan ranging from Year 2001 to 2005 for statistical analysis and experiment studies. The experiment results show that there are significant effects on the utilization of preventive services by factors such as age， National Health insurance coverage， with or without cancer， and the frequencies of hospital visits. Despite the fact that the utilization of the preventive care is increasing during this time period， there is still space for achieving more utilization for both services. To improve the rate of utilization， it is important to provide consultation to women with zero utilization，or with lower utilization rate in particular to women without cancer or any other major diseases. One other way is to refer those femal outpaients to using these preventive care services， disregard of any reasons of their visits.
