Generally it is often applied to the treatment of various diseases such as gastroenteric disorders, lymphatic disease, inflammation and tumors. Its pharmacological activities against tumor and inflammamatory have been largely mentioned among all. In our research, we found that extracts of PL contains the activity which is antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-coagulant. Furthermore, it is hardly cytotoxic to human aortic endotheliat cells (HAECs), and it can decrease proliferation in vitro. In the part of antioxidant, we found the SE50 of DPPH radical-scavenging is 98.1 μg/ml. The SE50 of superoxide (O2‧) radical- scavenging activities is 8.62±0.8 μg/ml. Then the SE50 of hydroxyl (‧OH) radical- scavenging activities is 5.04±0.5 μg/ml. And finally the SE50 of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) radical- scavenging activities is 247.07±2.4 μg/ml. Additionally, in the aspect of anti-flammatory, we found that when the concentration of PL is 250ug/ml, it can inhibit 54.5% of U937 and HAECS inflammation elevated by TNF-α. Also, when the concentration of PL is 500μg/ml, it can restrain 47% of the effect of vascular cell adhesion molecule 1, VACM-1.In the aspect of anti-coagulant, we found that the PL is not altered along with the increasing of concentration during the analysis of prothrombin time; PT. However during the activated partial thrmboplastin time; APPT, the PL can inhibit the activation of the coagulation factor VIII. To conclude, we acknowledge from the present findings that cidic polysaccharide isolated from Phellinus linteus can be used on antioxidant, anti-flammatory and anti-coagulant.
