| Summary: | 碩士 === 雲林科技大學 === 空間設計系碩士班 === 96 === The community centers could represent as the core of life in traditional rural community. These community centers can serve as a place for meeting and relaxing for the residents, and for enhancing the sense of community as well. However, because the buildings are getting old, the equipments are usually stolen, and the utilization ratio is getting low, the community centers have being marginalized for the residents.
This research focuses on the community centers in rural area at Douliu City, Yunlin County. Participant observation and inhabitant interview are adopted to investigate the current use, the activities in the past, and management in the future. This research inspects the results of practicing "bottom-up" method of community empowerment during the plan of spatial reformation of community centers.
Based on the investigation of the current operations and the leading members'' statements, the problems and barriers of community centers are observed, and the reasons of success or failure are thus be clarified. Finally a set of indicators is raised to help community evaluating the sustainability of community centers by community itself.
