| Summary: | 碩士 === 雲林科技大學 === 營建工程系碩士班 === 96 === The construction industry has played a decisive role in the infrastructure and national development in Taiwan. According to the statistics, the major occupation accident rate of construction has been the highest among all industries. For instance, the construction accident rate is 2.96 times higher than the total of other industries in 2006. It’s not only bringing serious life and financial losses, and also lowering the competitiveness of Taiwan’s construction industry. Thus it’s imperious to improve the construction worker safety management, in order to decrease the construction accident occurrence.
First, the study of 3,124 cases in "Executive Yuan''s Council of Labor Affairs statistics of the examples of construction industry professional disaster (1991 ~ 2005)" and 179 construction accident related cases of the legal precedents between 1993 and 2007 were performed to comprehend the construction accident circumstances in recent years. A questionnaire was then conducted to investigate the sufficiency of safety-related knowledge and training of highway construction workers, and the variance between the safety awareness and the implementation of labor safety work.
The result can be concluded as following, most workers are not aware of the accident occurrence details, the workers pay much attention to the safety between the colleagues no matter the project scale, and approximately 20% of workers consider the supervisor or manager has not investigated the safety problem immediately right after the accident, and the company has not provide the safety facility when working, consequently the construction company can review these two issues to improve the accident occurrence. It would also be conducive to reduce the accident occurrence if the supervisor or manager consulting with the workers about the safety advises, giving the workers safety education training, and establish the safety goal with workers. Furthermore, the actual implementation of the worker is not well as the awareness, especially for the temporary worker. It should be laid more stress on the working behavior of the temporary worker, to prevent the construction accident.
