The charge pump for USB-OTG requires not only the high voltage level, but also high current drivability. In addition, an adaptive heavy-load CMOS charge pump circuit is designed and implemented. It requires the output ripple voltage should be small. The automatic pumping control scheme is composed of two schemes, an automatic pumping current control scheme and an automatic pumping multi-band frequency control scheme. An automatic pumping multi-band frequency control scheme is composed of two schemes, a range-programmable Voltage-Controlled Oscillator and an adaptive level shifter. The output frequency of the range-programmable Voltage-Controlled Oscillator varies from 400 KHz to 10 MHz. The proposed charge pump was simulated and implemented by a TSMC 0.18 CMOS with VDD = 1.8 V. The circuit offers load currents ranging from 1mA to 30 mA. The proposed charge pump delivers output ripple voltage is less than 1mV.
