Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 資訊工程研究所 === 96 === A buffered crossbar supporting P priorities and a flow control latency of RTT packets requires at least N2*P*RTT packets memory amount in the crossbar to achieve work conservation and prevent packets from becoming blocked by packets of lower priority. In order to reduce the memory requirements, a priority elevation mechanism which reduces to N2*RTT+ N2*(P-1) is proposed. In this paper, we do some modification on the CICQ-VCQ switch architecture to reduces the memory requirements to N*RTT+N2*P. Our simulation results show that our switch architecture can let high priority cells go through the switch first and only has small throughput degradation contrast to others when memory requirements in crossbar are half amount.
