碩士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 工業設計系碩士班 === 96 === During the process of design learning, books, objects of design, and all kinds of design thinking have been very helpful materials. These materials influence a designer’s thinking and creation unobtrusively, and make up the present me. In a time that is full of various design thoughts and objects, it is important that we, as designers, develop our own design philosophy, to be responsible not only to ourselves but also to the society. The design philosophy “Escape from Boring” has just come into existence under this circumstance. This statement of this design philosophy discusses the boredom of design from two perspectives: Post-Modernism and Emotional Design factors while some design examples are used to manifest its connection to the subject of the title. Consequently, the form and contents as well as the methods and techniques of the design thinking are generalized as follows: a) satisfaction of emotion, b) simplicity, c) imagination, and d) function as the basis of form. Finally, products designed and explicated by means of these elements are presented. This design statement provides a direction of design thinking with a theoretical basis which makes the design philosophy reliable and convincible.
