碩士 === 雲林科技大學 === 工業工程與管理研究所碩士班 === 96 === 　　The purpose of this study was to evaluate the level of present safety culture in manufacturing firefighters by two case studies of city and country in middle Taiwan. The researcher was interested in determining the difference of the safety culture bet- ween the firefighters in the city and in the country ,and if firefighter’s background as individual variables can affect the safety culture in their department. In this study, a practical questionnaire had been designed and tested on 378 individuals in which 343 were valid. Finally,several statistic methods were used to analyze the collected data sets, including t-test, Scheffe’ method, one-way ANOVA analysis of variance and Spearman rank correlation. 　　According to the outcome of descriptive statistic analysis, the firefighter in the city was higher level of the safety culture, but the commender wanted the front-line staffs more concent finishing the work then safety when turning on for work because it was more disastrous and more pressure of the press and public opinion.The researcher advised it should advance the safety communication and safety attitute above all of the safety culture of city. In addition, the firefighter in the country was lower level of the safety culture, the front-line staffs more concent safety then finishing the work when turning on for work, and the leadership was distrusted. The researcher advised it should advance the safety system and safety leadship above all of the safety culture of city. 　　The result was showed on the Radar Diagram based on the research outcome.　The suggestions of this study were provided for senior management’s future uses on decision making on promoting the safety culture level within the organization.
