The product demanders are likely to obtain a great deal of needless information during their product search for e-Trading. The primary cause is that product providers and consumers have different awareness against product description. Due to ontology's ability of explicit specification in the domain, we apply it on the product description to help consumers retrieve semantics-conformable production information. However, it is not trivial to develop domain ontology. In this thesis, by merging and taking advantages of METHONTOLOGY and Ontology Development 101 for ontology construction, we develop an adequate and feasible approach to building ontology with four phases: specification, conceptualization, materialization and implementation. The result of this thesis also provides a development process suggesting related tasks for developers to build ontology that can assist both expert and non-expert in establishing the product ontology quickly and enable products to contain characteristic of knowledge.
