It is expected that in a near future, more wind generating units will soon be integrated into this power system where diesel generators are the main power sources. Due to many blackouts occurs at Peng-Hu island in the past, the present power protection scheme has not taken the influence of the wind generating units into consideration. Therefore, this study mainly analyzes the system impact on voltage, frequency and amount of the curtailed load on the Peng-Hu system with the wind generation penetration level up to being 30.81% during the winter off-peak period in 2010. Besides, a better power protection scheme for considering the influence of the wind generating units is proposed in order to improve the present power protection scheme based on the underfrequency relays. By using the power system simulation program PSS/E, the wind turbine models and the protective relay settings are considered. According to the present dispatching criterion concerning with the different generation/load pattern in the different seasons of 2010, the system steady state and transient response in some specific buses and key-index feeders are analyzed with wind generations integrated into the systems. The original power protection scheme (underfrequency load shedding) is examined, and a new protection scheme is proposed based on numerous contingences simulation, including relay settings and islanding operation protection for some specific cases. It is expected that the reliability improvement of the Peng-Hu system can be achieved. Bin-Kwie Chen 陳斌魁 2008 學位論文 ; thesis 162 zh-TW
