Description
Summary:碩士 === 大同大學 === 生物工程學系(所) === 96 === Oiltea camellia dregs and sweet potato could be used to make the organic plant protectant. The saponin in oiltea camellia and sporamin in sweet potato will provide the insect-repellent function. The powder products were formed in a spray dryer by pressure nozzle which atomized liquid into small droplets in the drying chamber. The first part of this study is to break and mix the powder of oiltea camellia dregs with dextrin of different weight percentage. We have sprayed the powder products on the surface of vegetable lefts, and found the insect-repellent effect on the tested lefts. The second part of study was mixing the different weight percentages of dextrin and sweet potato juice, then also the extract from garlic or hot pepper. We estimate that the cost for the spray-drying powders from the oiltea camellia dregs is about 700NTD/kg, and from sweet potato juice is about 1185NTD/kg. Due to the high purchasing cost in small quantity of materials and inefficiency of small-scale process, the estimated manufacture cost is too high. The manufacture cost will be much lower if we increase the production scale. Such cost estimation is helpful for future development of industries of organic plant protectant.
