By altering the conventional old, fixed target dummies, it features the core design of a movable dummy, with options to adjust the speed and measure the assault strength. In light that the new apparatus is of a proprietary, unique apparatus on the market, we have thus named it the “New-model Taekwondo continuously moving target dummy”. The new-model Taekwondo continuously moving target dummy is able to provide the coach with an objective, quantified measurement and evaluation by which to measure the athletes’ professional skill performance. The apparatus adopts the three variables of movement response timing, assault count, and dummy assault acceleration speed as the proficiency indicators, and instill a set of combined combat proficiency indicators. The study has selected a total of six athletes in the collegiate male/female lightweight, intermediary-weight and heavyweight categories as the test subjects, whom are put through a moving dummy at a distance of 5m to and from to evaluate the integrated combat proficiency indicators. Varied speeds have also been incorporated to measure the assault shifting performance, with speed measuring set to the three speeds of low (1m/sec), intermediary (2m/sec) and high (3m/sec). The response time measurement method entails deriving an athlete’s response time using the increment-free pedal switch, and the assault count measurement method entails deriving an athlete’s dummy assault movement’s intactness and dummy acceleration as the rendering criteria. The dummy acceleration has the assault dummy acceleration reading derived from the biaxial acceleration at 1000Hz. An integrated athletes combat proficiency indicator chart is compiled using the athletes’ three-indicator measurements, and the findings are presented to the coach and the athletes for references. The evaluation findings are able to clearly analyze, according to the integrated combat proficiency indicator chart, an athlete’s advantages and disadvantages, through which the coach and the athlete may refer to the indicator chart to discern an athlete’s strong suit and weaknesses, and custom-tailor what needs to be reinforced in an athlete’s training. The integrated proficiency indicator chart is able to provide the coach for selecting an athlete’s skill proficiency capabilities, and as an important indicator charge for an athlete seeking to achieve self-breakthrough.
