Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南藝術大學 === 民族音樂學研究所 === 96 === All kinds of musical instruments are not only the extensions of human voice, but also the direct tools to express inner emotions. According to the different natures of the musical instruments, people try to find different expressive ways, including quality of music and performance skills, to express various and colorful perceptions from individuals. Now these special performance skills become musical esthetics and arts. In this paper, the traditional important instrument, Xiao, a kind of vertical bamboo flutes, was discussed through four domains, which were ancient invention history, musical performance arts, musical psychology, and physical phenomenon from texts and sound. In the ancient creation history, the inventive, spreading, and popular process describes the classical state of the art. The esthetics of movement can be observed from the viewpoint of the musical performance arts. In the chapter of musical psychology, it describes how people feel Xiao’s sound through the hearing sense. In the chapter of physical phenomenon from texts and sound, the relation between musical esthetics and physical phenomenon can be verified by the experiments. Finally, this paper combines the viewpoints with four domains and makes a short conclusion.
