Description
Summary:碩士 === 臺北市立教育大學 === 溝通障礙碩士學位學程 === 96 === The study investigated the development of final nasal consonants and final consonant deletion process in two to five year-old normal preschool children. Ninety-one Mandarin speaking children from Taipei area were recruited. These children were divided into six chronological age groups:(a)2;1-2;6,(b)2;7-3;0,(c)3;1-3;6(d)3;7-4;0(e)4;1-4;6(f)4;7-5;0. All of the subjects receive language and hearing screening tests, The study used a phonological analysis test include with naming and imitation task which were administered to all subjects to study the development of final nasal consonants and final consonant deletion process in normal children. Results indicated that two year-old Mandarin speaking children were initially able to produce final nasal consonants, which continued until around age four. This overall performance reached the standard of final nasal consonants acquisition up to 80% correct, but individual variation still existed. In addition, final consonant deletion process is likely to happen in Mandarin speaking children, and the process was suppressed during about age 4. Although the final consonant deletion was great reduced for the children at this time, but final consonant error or substitution still happened. The results could provide some outlook for future studies and clinical evaluation or intervention of articulation and phonological disorders.
