Description
Summary:碩士 === 淡江大學 === 建築學系碩士班 === 96 === Looking about the space and environment that we live in, the city becomes inflexible because of the development of formalization. The surface of the cement buildings’ rigid space nature in the city makes it difficult to produce space with identification and particularity. And also, the whole environment becomes lack of the ability to produce characteristic that can interact with people. Because it is very difficult to change space framework; thus, this study hopes to change the external surface in order to try to change the monotony of the city space. This study hopes to make use of the edification that is brought by the second skin (namely clothes) of the human body to draw some interesting ideas through different design concepts that attract people from fashion design, so as to transform these ideas into the spaces and buildings. With such transformation, one can understand the possibility of the space’s second skin design and the technology and material that it needs to use, and then these skills can be transformed to buildings or city scenes at the same time. Through such a movement of surface replacement, it can be referred to the change that human beings need to carry out with the clothes because of the different demands of human bodies. Different surface treatments can be carried out to the building surface in accordance with the demands or environmental changes, just as the covering action that putting on clothes for the space. This study is mainly divided into four parts. The first part uses human body and the second skin as the main shaft, and tries to purely discuss the interaction between fabric and human body so as to understand the relationship between the human body and attachments. The second part attempts to transit clothes into the space, and then it begins from the fashion design field so as to transform clothes into the surfaces and the space needs. The third part makes use of the design of a costume designer’s display space to transmit the design of second skin in the architectural space. Finally, the above-mentioned surface states are integrated so as to design a series of scenery installations into the city; with the interaction of these installations, the city can produce a refreshing feeling so that the city can change its look easily. Through the discussion of this study, one can know that surface can have many different appearances, from the texture of decoration, functionality, to the transformable surface. In addition, the possibility for surface to transform into structure is also found in this study; thus, the concept of “form follows function” has been overthrown gradually. The category that this study discusses belongs to the display of the technology and construction that current digital tectonics has, and this study hopes to present a new idea that is different from the fixed impression towards traditional surfaces of architecture.
