Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北科技大學 === 電腦與通訊研究所 === 96 === The aim of this paper is to design an antenna for multimedia PDA mobile handset applications.
In this thesis, we will investigate two types of antenna systems. The first system is a design of Quad-band main antenna which can meet the requirement of four wireless standards, namely, GSM900 (Global System for Mobil Communication, Frequency: 880~960 MHz), DCS1800 (Digital communication system, Frequency:1710~1880 MHz), PCS1900 (Personal Communication Services, Frequency:1850~1990 MHz), and WCDMA2100 (Wideband Code Division Multiple Frequency: 1920~2170 MHz).
The second antenna structure is to combine a monopole antenna with a built-in camera module for WLAN 2.4/5.2GHz applications. A novel and simple dual-band dual-round strip monopole antenna is proposed, where the main structure is a ㄇ- shape metal radiation strip combining with a short L-shape metal radiation strip . The effective total length of the dual-band monopole antenna can be tuned utilizing the quarter wavelength design concept. This simple concept greatly lowered the design complexity and reduced the cost of manufacture. Further, the antenna can be placed on the non-metal spacing of the built-in camera module and thus can save valuable space for circuit routing.
