碩士 === 國立臺北科技大學 === 建築與都市設計研究所 === 96 === The concept of “Eco-city” originates from “Sustainable Development”, an ideology of pursuing ecological sustainability. To achieve sustainable development, interactions between city and its environment should be considered carefully. Symbiosis is the pursuit of environmental polyclimax based on the idea of mutual benefit. By far, relevant researches on eco-city have focused on strategies for current problems, the observation and control of microclimate, the clarification of the concept of “green” and the discussion about simbiotic community. A treatise on the developing process of eco-city from symbiotic point of view has not yet been presented. Accordingly, by analyzing existing references and applying the theory of the heuristic structure, the researcher attempts to redefine the meaning of eco-city under symbiotic consideration. This research focuses on the relationships between natural resources, ecological species and the city itself. However, due to limited time available, subjects related to society, culture, economics, and the practical operating technology will not be discussed into details. This research concludes with several suggestions concerned about the ecocity- oriented planning of Taipei City: 1. establish a reward system for greenness-feedback; 2. propose guiding principles for diverse designs; 3. encourage balanced development; 4. reevaluate the urban configuration; 5. establish criteria for estimating efficiency.
