Firm with high structural autonomy could own information benefit or control benefit. Thus, social capital could advance competitiveness of firms and improve the firm performance. There are few empirical studies on the relationship between social network and firm performance. This study investigates the relationship in the IC industry in Taiwan. Multiple regression models examine the relationships. There is a significant positive relationship between centrality and firm performance. And there is also a significant positive relationship between structure holes and firm performance. Therefore, corporations should set up excellence network and increase social capital to advance competitiveness of firms and improve the operating performance.
