Description
Summary:碩士 === 東海大學 === 會計學系 === 96 === Francis and Krishnan (1999) find that auditors are more likely to issue unclean audit opinions for high-accruals firms. However, Tsai and Hsu (2004) and Bradshaw et al. (2001) do not find the same result. This study examines whether auditors’ conservative reporting behavior differs when board monitoring is good or not. Empirical results find that auditors are more likely to issue unclean opinions for accruals uncertainty only when the board of directors is mostly composed of the ultimate controlling shareholders, supervisors internalization, outsider supervisors are fewer in the board and collateralized shares of board members are higher. Conversely, empirical results do not find auditor conservative reporting behavior when the board seats are not mostly dominated by the ultimate controlling shareholders, supervisors non-internalization, outsider supervisors are major in the board and collateralized shares of board members are lower.
