In low level machine tool, Taiwan is hard to compete with China, so it must proceed the product evolution, develop more skillful machine tool, and learn new technology. But how do technology acquire?The new issue of source and form of technology is pay attention by empirically and academically field. According to literature review, This research divided the technology source into ”internal” and ”external” divided the form into “formal” and “informal”, use source and form as two dimensions build the Technology Learning Analysis Matrix, and divided the Technology Learning into four styles, review the related literature of Product Architecture, and divided the Product Technology into architectural knowledge, component knowledge, interface knowledge, and analyze the learning methods individually. And to explore vertical to horizontal machining center machine can use their technical knowledge level. And the introduction of “learning by doing” and “learning by using” point of view, to observe how sophisticated the technology industry knowledge. According to the result of case study, this research discover that each enterprise has different thinking and methods in technology learning model, and divided the Architectural knowledge learning into imitate and technology transfer, the source of technology learning is mainly external , and the form of technology is formal and informal, belong to style 3 and 4;the learning of component knowledge is mainly self-learning , the source of technology is internal , and the form of technology is formal, belong to style 2;the learning of interface knowledge is mainly through self-learning or technology transfer, the source of technology is internal and external, and the form of technology is formal, belong to style 2 and 3 . Continues to use the degree aspect in the technical knowledge, the vertical machining center technical knowledge is unable the percentage hundred to continue to use, in three kind of knowledge continues to use the degree take the Architectural knowledge as to be lowest. ”Learning by doing” mainly through the secondary test error, its accumulated experience. ”Learning by using” major customer returns, to collect information related products, sophisticated products.
