The cases of Rotary Cooperative Education (Co-op Ed) Program students increase in recent years and the workplace safety is seriously concerned. Washington (2002) on teens injure from part time job stresses that teens are always double to get injured at workplace than adults. We have to make good use of the cooperative education program to provide students enough training and practical information, and we can reduce injures at the workplace.
The study was established by the questionnaires of Rotary Co-op Ed Program students at Private Vocational High Schools in Kaohsiung and Ping Tung areas. We were doing the cluster sampling on safety cognition and related variables of Rotary Co-op Ed Program students in Practical Workplace at Private Vocational High Schools. According to the individual background and related influential factors, we were working on the safety cognition analysis by the following dimensions of teachers, parents, employers, peers and individuals. 550 questionnaires were sent out, and 474 of them were available for using in this study. The usable returned rate was 86.18%. Results and suggestions were provided to educational administrative authorities.
The major findings of this study were summarized as follows:
1. The different personal background of the rotary cooperative education program students caused a significant difference on workplace safety cognition.
2. There was positive correlation between cognition of workplace safety of the rotary cooperative education program students and its’ related influential factors.
3. The influential factors on safety cognition of Rotary Co-op Ed Program students were significantly predictable.
