And, the government also hopes the rise of the minimum wage can enhance the consumer's purchasing capability and can promote the economic prosperity The study analyzes the issue using an economic empirical approach. We investigate the influence of the minimum wage on employment rate and labor participation rate by the employee’s education level, rather by the age cohort which has been studied in most papers. In addition, we also investigate the issue by the employee’s gender. We find that, as a whole, the minimum wage does not affect both the employment and labor force very much in Taiwan. However, when the study goes in depth, we find the minimum wage still has its influences on some groups of employee, they are high school male and female, and the higher education males.
