Description
Summary:碩士 === 國防大學政治作戰學院 === 新聞研究所 === 96 === China’s government incorporated Media Warfare, Psychological Warfare and Legal Warfare (Three Warfare)into The Political Work Act of People’s Liberation Army (PLA) on Dec.5 2003. We can realize that this situation is very serious when The Chinese Communist Party passed the《anti-secession law》against Taiwan independent movement on Mar.14. 2005. Such act not only harmed the relationship across Taiwan Strait, but also endangered regional security. Facing this vital and controversial event we want to find out how the domestic English newspapers cover the story and how they represent the different real event through their frame system. This research project adopted the「Gatekeeper theory」and「Framing theory」to do the studies and used content analysis approach to compare, define and analyze through three English newspapers such as 《Taipei Times》、《Taiwan News》and《The China Post》. Samples collected before, during and after anti-secession law were enacted from Dec.17.2004 to Mar.14.2007. There are 774 copies of relevant news and reports. According to the chi-square test results, two of these categories such as report type and report attitude on newspaper viewpoints and legislative period were made insignificant difference. The rest categories were made significant difference.
