The empirical results show that expatriates’ social capital is positively related to knowledge acquisition, and knowledge acquisition is positively related to work performance. The results also indicate that absorptive capacity has no significant moderating effect on the relationship between expatriates’ social capital and knowledge acquisition. The contributions of this study include two sides, academic and practical. It can help enterprises to understand the relationship between expatriates’ social capital and knowledge acquisition.
