It is a impossible mission to maintain quality and speed under limited budget and resources. Therefore waiting is inevitable. Perception of waiting is central to human feelings about the medical practices in the hospitals. Perceived anxiety and perceived illness contribute to the perception of waiting. In this paper we try to investigate the relationship between perceived anxiety, perceived illness and perceived waiting time. We gathered data from both people in hospital and normal people not in hospital about their experiences and perceptions of illness, anxiety and waiting time. Those patients in hospital reported lower perception of both anxiety and waiting time. During the research we found that the assistant’s explanation is an essential factor in moderate the patients’ perception and it is worthwhile for further study and as a management skill.
