| Summary: | 碩士 === 靜宜大學 === 西班牙語文學系研究所 === 96 === Carmen Martin Gaite was one of the most representative spanish female writers in the twentieth century. She was born in 1925 in Salamanca of Spain. Her creative energy was powerful, variety. Her creations not only have won numerous prizes, but also were been translated into many languages.
This research will take two representing novels in her initial and intermediate creative life: Between Curtains, 1957 (the prize of Nadal) and The back room, 1978 (the Spanish Country prize of Literature), as subject of the analysis, and discuss its thematic elaboration. Our study is divided into four chapters: the first chapter, we start presenting our motivation, object, and method; the second chapter, we analyze the writing technique of the writer, including analysis of the narrative time-space and introduce the style and the background of the author; the third chapter, we discuss the thematic elaboration, first, the remembers of the childhood and the youth time of the author, second, the seeking of the ideal communicator; the fourth chapter, conclusion.
