Although the living conditions of our ancestors had been very difficult, the hardship has contributed a variety of arts and cultures to Taiwan, such as Hakka Culture, Aboriginal culture, Hoklo culture, and so-called New Resident Culture in recent years. As a result, these precious cultural assets enrich Taiwan in many ways. Owing to my own Hakka heritage, it is important to me to gain a deeper insight into the current condition and development in Hakka music. Along with collecting documents, I also participate in Hakka Choir to broaden my views of Hakka culture. This thesis is divided into six chapters. In Chapter One, I state my research motif, method, and scope of the study. Chapter Two discusses the origin, the formation, and the development of Hakka Folk songs. By compiling various scholars’ perspectives and by examining two essential categories-- text and modal settings, chapter three introduces different types of Hakka folk songs. Chapter Four explores the singing manners and formal structures of Hakka music, based upon modes and scales, rhythms and meters, intervals, cadences, setting of lyrics and performing styles. Chapter Five contains my interpretation of Hakka Folk Songs in my graduation concert. Chapter Six offers a brief summary of the thesis as a whole. The goal of this thesis is to help readers grasp a better understanding and appreciation of Hakka music in a historical context. 唐鎮 2009 學位論文 ; thesis 108 zh-TW |
