Claudio Bravo is a figurative artist who belongs to a rather modern time, and it is the purpose of this essay to study his style, his expression characteristics, and his creative aspects; on the other hand, I would like to explore the effect that he has brought to the younger generation, and also investigate into the differences and similarities between the author’s form of expression of creative works and Bravo’s paintings.
An example of the similarities is that the author and Bravo both adopt classical structures and skills to present visual experience of creation.
Examples of the differences are: when the author works on his creation, he usually makes use of the picture frame as an intermedium to illustrate his own emotion, his sentiment and his opinions of things. This leads to the result that all the chosen objects and the arrangement are of particular signification and of necessity. They are made to be like an arena image, aiming at an issue or a situation, which allows the dialogue among the components and the mutually communication of their supposed creative concept to be transformed; also his own subjective viewpoints are involved, such as the relationship between the real object and imitation, the realization and application of Semiotics, development in skills, and the projection of emotion to the image; they all enrich the author’s creation and makes it reach a modest level.
