Description
Summary:碩士 === 中國文化大學 === 藝術研究所 === 96 === From ancient times to the present, the painting always suits both refined and popular tastes, and it is also a spiritual and perceptual activity. Although there’s no argument on the appreciation of the beauty, the points of view of the artistic production are different between the intellectuals and the ordinary people, so we can’t judge who’s wrong and who’s right. Making a comprehensive survey of the procedure of the artistic history, no matter from the East, West, palace, religion or folk painting to all kinds of art works, they appear all together and every artist wants to be the most excellent one. But is it possible that we can figure out the truth? What is the right way to the painting? Who can be the genuine master? Before completing a great artistic production, the faith of creation and insistence is necessary. For example, Alberto Giacometti (1901~1966), who faced the loneliness bravely, Vincent van Gogh (1853~1890), who painted with his soul, or Paul Cezanne (1839~1906), who insisted to advocate the nature, even Ba-Da-Shan-Jun (1625~1705) or Huan-Bin-Hong (1865~1955) in modern times, their achievement and contribution on art are obviously. That proves painting needs to be manifested with spirit and soul, and if it’s only be pursued and performed technically, it will lose the real life of the creation eventually. If painting is just to tell a story, then the litterateur or novelist could be qualified. Painting should be simply a spiritual activity. Lao-tzu, the ancient sage in China, said well that “Learning everyday and making progress, but defining the truth is demanded to be decreased “, until reach the limits of inaction. If we want to see through the vision, then we have to define the truth. However, Lao-tzu said, “ Truth can be only accepted, not be taught”. Not any teacher can teach how to release the “Truth” perfectly. So we have to feel and realize it by ourselves. Thus, we can combine life and art all together properly and get the true meaning. Since I was ignorant and innocent on painting until now, I am luckily having the chance to research and write the thesis. I’m looking forward to put the doubt and answer in this thesis, which conceal in my mind for many years, and provide art lovers to consult and cite.
