Description
Summary:碩士 === 中國文化大學 === 材料科學與奈米科技研究所 === 96 === In this paper we present Polypropylene(PP)/metallocene polyethylene(mPE)/clay nanocomposites. Metallocene polyethylene was grafted with vinyl triethoxy silane first and then followed by the mixing of which with PP and clay. The clay incorporation was 2, 5, and 9 parts per hundred resins of mPE. The crosslinking reaction was conducted at 70℃ in the presence of water. The effect of curing on the mechanical properties and thermal properties was investigated. X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) revealed that clay was well exfoliated in mPE matrix. FT-IR revealed that addition of clay can decrease in -Si-O-CH3 groups(1104cm-1) but increase in -Si-O-Si groups (1018cm-1) and -Si-O groups (1045cm-1). TGA results showed that 5 % and 50% weight loss were enhanced and degraded temperature increased in the presence of clay. Through tensile and tear test, the addition of clay can enhance the mechanical properties, especially for silane crosslinked system.
