Among important operations of knowledge management is the knowledge sharing that deals with the distribution of knowledge and impact that knowledge can be on an enterprise performance. Tacit knowledge transfer is one of the most important issues in the implementation of knowledge sharing. Its efficacy may be highly influenced by various factors, such as cognitive system, knowledge externalization, knowledge object formation, and knowledge interpretation. Literature has shown that the information technology plays a fairly important and supportive role for knowledge sharing, in particular the transfer of tacit knowledge. However, although information technology can help in knowledge transfer, the supportive effectiveness may be ill-controllable due to its various features. For example, the support in terms of transfer efficacy by multimedia technology and database technology may be different. Therefore, the focus of this study is to convey the factors that may influence knowledge transfer and to explore the appropriate information technology features in support of tacit knowledge transfer. Analytic hierarchy process was used to build the hierarchy construct and disclose the importance of IT categories for knowledge transfer in this study. Experts or scholars whose expertise was in knowledge management were interviewed and asked to fill in a designed questionnaire. The amount of returned questionnaires was 28, and of which 21 were valid, indicating a 75% returned rate. The software of Expert Choice 2000 was used to analyze the collected data. Main results were obtained showing that (1) importance order with respect to the influence of tacit knowledge transfer is cognitive system of both provider and receiver, externalization, interpretation, and knowledge object, (2) database technique is the most important IT type for both cognitive system of provider and knowledge object, software tool is the most important IT type for interpretation while application information system for cognitive system of receiver, (3) importance order with respect to most appropriate IT for tacit knowledge transfer is decision support system, data warehouse, artificial intellectual software, groupware system, media tool, internet forum, internet search, frequently asked question, enterprise system, database, applied tool, and enterprise internet. An example that is used to demonstrate the use of research results is also described. Chien-hsing Wu 吳建興 2008 學位論文 ; thesis 95 zh-TW |
