The mouse market scale has grown gradually these days. In this huge and stable market, designers and merchants must deeply understand consumers’ preference when they try to develop more competitive products. However, the research about mouse in the past concentrated on configuration and color, and ignored the importance of texture. So lacking an effective appraisal standard of superficial texture in mouse market will let designers lack a basis of visual cognition, consumers’ preference cognition and decision making. The purpose of this research is to know consumers’ preference of texture when they buy mouse, and use conjoint analysis to analysis and forecast consumers’ preference. By conjoint analysis, this research gets a degree of preference which was caused by levels of each superficial texture attribute, as well as part-worth utility for consumers according to different consumption group, in order to build the best superficial texture appraisal mode of mouse design. The results are as follows: 1.The dimension order of superficial texture attributes for all subjects are material etching> transparency > gloss > flash effect. 2.The preference of mouse superficial texture for all subjects are smooth material etching, varnish gloss, transparency, and no flash effect. 3.In accordance with the values of weight and part-worth utility of mouse superficial texture, this study builds two different calculation formula of consumers’preference.
