Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 營建工程系 === 96 === The use of utility common ducts is aimed at integrating telecommmunication lines, water and gas pipes in one single structural system, such that high efficiency in utility operations and transportation fluency can be maintained. This concept is involving as the main stream design concept of the lifeline systems in metropolitan areas, and is currently extensively developing in Taiwan. It is the main objective of this thesis to summarize the major common utility ducts, and their design methods of associated seismic design codes. The main topics include the simplified analysis method, the quasi-static method, the response spectral method, and the wave response method. The current design code adopted by Japan is also briefly discussed and its implication to the Taiwan code are also investigated.
