Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 營建工程系 === 96 === In the design of the proposed composite bridge column, the steel tube is used to replace the traditional stirrups, which simplifies the construction works greatly and shorten the construction time. Moreover, the steel tube also provides excellent confinement for the concrete and enhance the seismic resistance capacity of the bridge pier. In this study, very short bridge column are examined. The span-to-depth ratios of the columns studied are less than 2. These columns are subjected to very high shear force that lead to the most austere situation for the strength and deformation capacity. From this study, it is found that even under extremely high shear force, the proposed composite type bridge columns are able to achieved good strength. However, the deformation capacity of these short columns are mainly contributed from the shear deformation which is less than the columns with larger span-to-depth ratio that posses more flexural deformation.
