Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 電子工程系 === 96 === The specification of DVB-H (Digital Video Broadcasting – Handheld) is firstly proposed and developed by European Digital Video Broadcasting Project. It became European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) standard in Nov. 2004.
Definitely, the requirement of stringent performance as well as environmental limitation will be encountered for the handheld device on Mobile TV signal receiving. Besides, regarding to the considerations of DVB-H backward compatibility to DVB-T, 4K mode and some extended Transmission Parameter Signaling (TPS) have been additionally defined in DVB-T Physical Layer. Meanwhile, another two key technologies, Time-Slicing and MPE-FEC, have also been utilized on Link Layer for reducing the requirement of power consumption and enhancing the ability of mobile reception. DVB-H standard complies with Internet Protocol (IP) packet format stipulated in Network Layer, and provides the function of soft-handover.
In the thesis, the developing background and system concept of DVB-H will be initially introduced. The evolution of physical layer from DVB-T to DVB-H will be also explained. Two key technologies applied to Link Layer, Time-slicing and MPE-FEC, will be described in details. Then, the implementation and performance verification of designed DVB-H module will be done according to theoretical study and practical application, by going through schematic design, layout analysis and measurement of module performance. At last, the conclusion will be summarized.
