Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 電子工程系 === 96 === IEEE 802.11 DCF protocol does not work efficiently in the multi-rate wireless local area networks (WLAN) and leads to the unfairness of the channel access. Since the good links have higher data rate, it should have more opportunities to send than the bad ones. The IEEE 802.11 DCF protocol will make the network throughput decreased and the end-to-end delay increased. In this paper, we present the Multi-Channel Direct Link Algorithm (MDLA), which works in the WLAN infrastructure network. A direct link will be set up between talking nodes over some other non-overlapping channel. Therefore, the good links get much more time to send and the bad ones get less. Hence, both the throughput and end-to-end delay of the network are improved.
