Because the amount of invoices is usually large when we check the Invoice numbers for price, the checking work is tedious and time-consuming. Digital image processing technologies have been widely used to recognize characters and numbers, such as recognizing vehicle plate numbers. However, there is few research work invoice number recognition. In this paper, we apply digital image processing to automatic invoice number recognition. We use neural networks to recognize numbers. Our method is robust and tolerant of skew and scaling. From experimental results, our method can obtain good performance of recognizing invoice numbers.
