The data were collected from entrepreneurs of small & medium-sized enterprises in Taiwan. A total of 250 questionnaires were distributed this way and 127 valid response obtained. The article performed hierarchical regression analyses to test the hypotheses, obtained some major findings: (1) personality traits were positively related to opportunity identification. (2) prior knowledge was positively related to opportunity identification.(3) opportunity identification was positively related to t entrepreneurial performance.(4) opportunity identification was full mediated the relationship between personality and entrepreneurial performance.(5) opportunity identification was partial mediated the relationship between professional knowledge and entrepreneurial performance, opportunity identification was full mediated the relationship between industry-specific knowledge, entrepreneurial knowledge and entrepreneurial performance.
