These are inspired by many masters’ pieces and reception of my life. Life situation is similar to a musical variation confronted by many kinds of encounter. Through outer engagements bring up possible conditions of harmony and antimony. These conditions are converted into the support. Compressed and extended formation and color, therefore, develop into scenes which are different from subjective expanse. They are not just memory and imitation but with inner thought and transformation, they become a painterly language. “Materials used for creative presentation are not any more the original object. Those mountains and trees, rivers and brooks…etc. which are appeared in the support, have been changed into images of transformation and color.” Specification in creative manners has to be parallel in mind and materials. Thus, it can immediately condense formation and color. We would like to explain the concept with three keywords –material, contingence and space. Material can be realized as a sense of feeling and media. Human being is capable of using experiences transformed by sense of touch and perceives different materials by visual contact. For drawing, we employ materials and skills to present particular qualitative sense. As for media, we usually attempt to extend them to the point of psychological meaning, that is, the inspiration burst out in the moment when we begin to draw and dealing with its feeling in creative drawing process. Contingence means the cross point between natural figures and feelings in mind. It is a kind of concrete behavior in creative activities. With our force of idea, material sources keep on stimulating, moving around and suspending to produce the vision area. Space refers to distance and also indicates atmosphere. It is not only referred to separation of timing such as the rest settled between two notes in music but also referred to the interval between drawing strokes. As far as space concerned, we may regard it as “the atmosphere around our body and mind.” In Chinese painting, under the sense of “fusing oneself into the Nature”. It particularly focuses on how to make the best of emptiness and reality. Therefore, as a conclusion, an artistic work has its excellence hidden in the space of “emptiness”. Creating drawing is a composed activity for body and mind. Only extending the boundary of life sensation, walking over the stiff thinking and experimenting different type of constructions and skills can we possibly present wonderful artistic works. Key words: painterly, transformation, movement, calmness, emptiness, reality, material, contingence, space. Wu,Yung-Chin 吳永欽 2008 學位論文 ; thesis 90 zh-TW
